PyGotham is a fine conference, but it is online again this year, and I have frankly reached my limit on how many online events I can attend. At this point, my eyeballs rebel at the prospect of watching another Zoom presentation. So I am considering some other things.
Like PyCon. PyCon 2023 in Salt Lake City is too far for me, both in terms of distance and budget, but Pittsburgh in 2024 is more feasible. Plus, it would be super exciting to go to python’s Big Event. I will be totally out of my depth, but that means that I will learn a ton, and probably come home with a bunch of new ideas. Which is perfect.
Other than that, I’m trying to figure out what I can learn or do locally and cheaply. Summer in New York City is here, so it’s time to find some programming meetups!
